Come on, folks, Everest is the highest, but not the tallest. If Bob is 6' and Bill is 6' 4" but Bob is standing on a chair, then Bob is higher than Bill but not taller.

Next time you should specify your Question #2 That we have to go Scuba diving to measure the mountain from the bottom of the Sea .....to me is Still Everest the Tallest mountain on earth !!!!

These questions were interesting but the answers didn't seem really difficult to me. To Jim Evans:. As was explained in the answer highest peak and tallest mountain are two different things. The height of a mountain is measured from its base to its summit. Mt. McKinley (more recently referred to as Denali) is also taller than Everest.
