My dog much prefers humans to any other animal including his own species. He's my friend, my buddy and my companion and is as human as a dog can be. As I write this he's lying at my feet snoring his head off - not at all uncommon with Staffies

Great, we had a dog who loved our children's mouse Algernon. All of our four dogs we've had in our lifetime were bought up with cats. They were part of their pack and they would defend them against any animal that dare to attack them. That included other cats. At the moment I have a tiny dog of about four pounds in weight and an eleven pound tabby cat. She will defend him against the Red Kites who try to take him to feed their young in the spring. The Red Kite may be bigger than her but she wouldn't let him take her little friend. If he goes out in the garden she will go as his ' minder'.
