How much do we really know about the history of things we often see and use? Turns out, some everyday stuff has been around for much longer than we usually think.
#1 Hoodies
Today, hooded sweatshirts are loved and worn by people of all ages. Anyway, hoodies seem like a recent fashion phenomenon. In reality, they were first made in the 1930s as workwear. Well, they are still younger than jeans!
#2 3D movies
Can you imagine that the first 3D feature film was actually a silent drama? The Power of Love was produced by American operator Harry K. Fairall. He invented all the camera equipment himself. For some reason, people didn't go crazy about 3D when the film premiered, so it was only presented two times.

#3 Brain surgery
There is evidence that this exquisite medical procedure is actually as old as some primitive tools. Remains of surgical tools and successful brain operations dating back to the Neolithic period were found in Europe. Successful brain surgeries were also performed by the Incas and their ancestors.
#4 Fast food
In Ancient Rome, there were thermopolia – counters were ready-to-eat food was sold. These places were most often visited by the poor, as they couldn't afford a private kitchen.
