Why definitely never heard of, several were known to me, especially Alice Liddell and Joseph Bell, confess to not having heard of either the Betty Boop or Zorro origins.

Kathryn , the only “book” you’ll need is Google. If you at least remember the name of the famous person, you’ll be able to look up the whys and wherefores behind the name changes, etc. I used to read encyclopedias. Now I use google.

thoroughly enjoyed the info and found out a heap I never knew before. Just proves you're NEVER too old to learn, but how do I remember these things ? I used to learn from books, written words but retained in the books. I need a book with all of this written for me to bookshelf for future reference..!!

The BBC did an excellent series some years ago which explored the working relationship between Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Joseph Bell.

Interesting article. Living in Canada I know about the Canadian connection to Winnie-the-Pooh but I enjoyed read the information anyway. Bonnie
