Hanoi Train Street - the story of one of the most unusual tourist attraction
Once known only by local people, today Hanoi Train street is a famous place in Vietnam. What makes it special? Let's take a walk.
Streets are veins of any city. They are the best place to discover people's true life. Tourists and social networks have made Train Street very popular. There is a railway line which goes through the street. It is more than 100 years old and is located in-between houses, just a few inches from the doorways! However, today the track is closed. What's the reason? Let's see. You can also take a look at the oldest European streets and the way they've changed in time.
#1 Life of the locals
As amazing as it may sound, people living on this street feel quite comfortable. They don't pay attention to this peculiarity. It seems like they don't notice the railway track. When a train was coming, people took away their things and asked children to come inside.

This railroad was used by tourists as a cheap means of transportation. However, this place in Hanoi Old Quarter turned out to be a very interesting tourist attraction itself. Some visitors came here for selfie tourism, while others were interested in daily life of people who lived here.

When the local people noticed that their street turned out to be a very popular site, they opened a lot of cafes. It is a perfect place to try famous Vietnamese coffee.

This is the reason why the railway track is closed now. According to a government decision, this place is too dangerous for tourists as they put their lives at risk trying to take the best selfies.
