Tourists fall in love with this ancient city built on the picturesque hills. They say, the best way to unravel Lisbon is just to walk around the city without any particular destination and enjoy its beautiful narrow streets and amazing architecture.

This city never sleeps at night! Classic cocktail bars, cozy nightclubs, wine bars, traditional fado houses... everyone should try this at least once. By the way, Lisbon became the first city in history to have bought Guinness out of the UK!

The locals and experienced tourists guarantee: you will never get bored just wandering in Lisbon. Still, some places in the city deserve special attention.

Belém Tower built near the Lisbon shore was opened in 1519.

By the way, Lisbon is older than such famous cities as Paris, Rome and London!

The locals call Lisbon "cidade das sete colinas", which means "the city of seven hills". Still, most researchers are sure this number was never historically accurate.

An electric tram is one of the main symbols of the city. Don't hesitate to take a picture in front of one of them - it is a must for every tourist!

A lovely city. The trams that go up and down some of the steepest hills in the city are well worth riding on. Not quite the same as San Francisco as you can't hang out from the tram as you can there (and I have done) but you get a very good feel for the older parts of the city. I've always enjoyed my times there. Opposite to Lisbon is the real home of Port (NOT Lisbon), Portugal's iconic and fabulous drink. Wandering about there is to some extent like going back in time as the Bodegas haven't changed externally in centuries - and many are British owned.
