Does this surprise any woman? Men have been doing it for centuries.

Add Rosalind Franklin, whose work gave Crick and the two Scumbags Watson and Wilkins the Nobel Prize and she got squat.

The Nobel Prize Committee needs seriously to look to the fraud and lies that they have continued to up hold. ALL of the PAST incorrectly awarded prizes need to be addressed and those found incorrect need to be withdrawn and re awarded, posthumously if necessary. If the fruads and lies are continued to be upheld it taints ALL of the awards given to every person who was not a fraud or cheat and totally diminishs any value & prestige the Prize holds

Appalling and I don't think much has changed. That Martin Ryle would stoop so low does surprise (and horrify) me. Why should someone who is a student who worked with 2 "recognised" scientists and made such a discovery as Jocelyn Bell Burnett did be denied a share of the Nobel Prize?

How sad that some men are so insecure in their chosen careers they feel obliged to steal from the accomplishments of others!

crick and watson did the same to the polish woman who discovered how to x ray the dna strand--they broke into her office and stole her research--only crick and watson got the nobel prise---this has been going on since time began---women must be kept as 3 rd class people--this is not new

Not unusual that men took credit for everything back in those days.

Stories like these make me so angry! Woman have been screwd over by men for years. Maybe someday, someone will write a book about these brilliant woman and the truth will be revealed. They might even get the credit/awards they deserve. Plus it should be taught in schools everywhere. If I were younger and more importantly, a talented writer, I would do it. Anyone out there a good writer? I would buy the book not only for myself but for all the young women I know such as my neices and grand nieces. I would also donate several copies to my local library. The list goes on and on.

Men always want the credit, and push the woman aside. Truly sad how done men believe that we're inferior to them.

I was aware of Jocelyn Bell's and Hedy Lamarr's contributions, and knew that there were many women involved in research and development for the Manhattan Project, but I hadn't heard of the others... Sad, really.

Frank P. Rosalind Franklin died of cancer two years before the Nobel Prize was awarded. The Nobel is not awarded posthumously, but she definitely should have been mentioned.
