Why is the Chinese Mountain Cat in an enclosed cage?Set him free and back in his unique environment.

I love cats and so nice to see some that I didn't know. We did see a lynx one day when crossing a bridge in a green belt where we lived...so exciting to see that beautiful animal in the wild.

debbie, Most photos online seem to be the same caged cat. Until 2007, the Chinese mountain cat was known only from six individuals, all living in Chinese zoos, and a few skins in museums The Chinese mountain cat is threatened due to the organised poisoning of pikas. The poison used diminishes prey species and also kills cats unintentionally. Yet I read elsewhere that there are only 1000 pikas left in the world.

What no mention of the Scottish wildcat? I think there's only 99 left in the world. That's pretty rare.

Maybe it is because i am a cat lover, but i heard of everyone of these cats save one. And i once came face to face as a child with a Canada lynx. I will never forget that day. He was as scared as i was. We look at each other a few others , then he turn away and ran back into the forest. Such a beautiful animal.
