Of course, the statement is quite true. Carbohydrates, the main sources of energy, can turn into fat in the body.
However, Sharon Natoli from Food and Nutrition Australia, has been investigating the issue since the 1990s and proved: diets with a restriction of bread or gluten can harm health. Bread itself can hardly influence one's weight.

Besides the typo, the statement is comparing apples to oranges ... UK is a country. Lloro, Colombia is a city. Does that translate into the rainiest country? Not enough information provided to answer.

Whether sugar makes kids hyperactive or not, they eat way too much of it in the U.S. anyway. Sounds ridiculous to think they need more sugar than adults.

The part about children needing more sugar than adults is incorrect, especially when accompanied by a photo of a child eyeing gummy candy. (I can see my dentist cringing here.). The only sugars required as nutrients are those that occur naturally in wholesome foods like fruit and milk.
