7 useless body parts you have now for no reason

The human body is a really cool thing. Evolution has created this system that works in harmony with the brain. However, believe it or not, you have multiple body parts on you right now that actually serve no function, but you still have them!

I haven’t included wisdom teeth, appendixes and tailbones to the list as they are too obvious. Instead, I want you to learn something really curious that surprised me.

So those were 7 body parts you have for no reason. What do you think about them? Write your comments below!

And what do you think about that? Do you have any interesting facts to share? If so, tell us in the comments below, please!

Nothing is extra useless body part. Every organ that is mentioned here has got a role to play. Dont publish such misinformative articles to make common men fools.

Hmmmm - as a teacher of anatomy and physiology, this article leaves a lot to be desired. The appendix, for example, contains a resevoir of our gut biome, so if we have a bout of diarrhea that strips the intestines of gut flora, the appendix can repopulate it. This was discovered in about 2010, so the article writer clearly hasn't done enough research - just simply decided it was an "obvious" one and therefore not included in detail but only mentioned. The gall bladder secretes bile when we eat to trigger the production and release of pancreatic digestive enzymes - this ensures the digestive enzymes are available at the right time. Also, the secretion of bile when we eat triggers peristalsis in the intestine, moving the food particles through and enabling absorption and assimilation of nutrients. I could go on, but will stop here and simply say the article should be entitled "Body parts we can live without" rather than "Body parts you have for no reason." Very disappointing article indeed.

Body hair serves to help us stay warm. Just ask any cancer survivor about when they lost all their hair.

Absolutely nonsense and contradictory to science and medical anatomy. There is no useless parts in our body, period!

God created us perfectly. They have a purpose or He would not have created us with these parts.

I think the head would be much heavier if it were solid bone and did not have vacant places.

If nature didn’t think we needed it, we wouldn’t have it so please do not disparage the human body. It’s a pretty amazing machine!

Julianne White, your spleen stores spare red blood cells - it's available as a mini-transfusion if you bleed profusely and has been known to save lives. The appendix is a reservoir of your gut flora. It can replenish your gut after a bout of diarrhea, reestablishing your gut biome. While you can live without these, they do serve a purpose.

Poorly written , misinformation given. I'm upset with this posting because I generally enjoy the articles.

Classic human vanity. If we can't figure out what its purpose is, then it has no purpose.

The hair always puzzled me. I thought to keep warm, to protect the skin but then, why would males be hairier than females? What's that about?

johnpburkhardt, My late wife had no sinuses and had no problem holding her head upright, never had sinusitis either. She died as a result of a heart problem nothing to do with her lack of sinus cavities.

The head would be to heavy to hold upright without sinuses

I seriously doubt we are any smarter having wisdom teeth. There isn't room for them and they usually need to be extracted .🤔
