I usually can’t eat fresh fast enough to keep some of it at least from going bad! I hate throwing out food, for that reason I prefer frozen, it lasts much longer 😊

I like fresh fruit and vegetables, but I think that frozen are just as good as fresh especially if they are out of season.

Confirms my thoughts, and means you can have as much or little in a serve. Also means you can have out of season produce.

I live in Northern Ontario, where the growing season is short. In winter, the fresh fruit and vegetables on supermarket shelves may have spent days in transit from the USA and Mexico. .The frozen fare is better in such instances, because the freezing process takes place soon after harvesting and preserves the vitamin content.

Personally my family and myself we prefer fresh fruit and vegetables if at all possible. I enjoy cooking various types of soup but do not believe in making so much that I would freeze it for another day. We usually consume the soup on a daily basis so that each day there is a different flavour soup.

Known this a while. UK supermarkets really don't cater for single people so fresh fruit and veg can go off long before they can all be eaten. It's just a question of adapting your recipes to suit frozen produce.

I knew this, I have not bought canned veggies in years. Flash-freezing means produce is picked, blanched and quickly frozen to avoid ice crystals from forming. Not all produce in the freezer section is flash-frozen. There is no requirement for frozen food companies to label how their produce is frozen. The only requirement from the FDA is that if a company chooses to include information about how the produce is frozen on the label, it must be truthful.
