My Grandfather had a horse that had to be fed daily by 4:00 p.m. Or he would open the gate to the pasture where he and about 50 cows were kept and drive all the cows out on to the road.

I think I loved horses, from the time I could walk. I grew up, riding first one and then another. I had a cousin, a friend, a neighbor of my uncle's, all of these people would either let me take turns or they had several and I rode by myself. Finally got me a small farm, had four horses, chased horses at two o'clock in the morning, to put them back in pasture. They tore down every fence I put up. I found out about the saying, " the grass is always greener, on the other side". I don't regret it. I would come home in the morning from work, saddle a horse, and ride through the fields, as the sun was warming my back. Thank you Lord.

Mildred Hartley Durgin, that's so funny! That horse knew how to get revenge if he didn't get his food. After putting all the cows back, I wouldn't forget to feed him by his requested time. I'd probably feed him by three pm. Better safe than sorry - lol

Thank you for that awesome info. Very interesting about their blood types. Horses are beautiful, majestic creatures. The Bible speaks about Jesus Christ coming back and riding on a white horse. What a privileged creature. There's nothing more majestic in the animal kingdom than to see wild horses running together. Love them! I love the pic of the horse resting on the grass and of the man and the horse. What a beautiful bond.
