#1 Macaroons vs macarons
A macaroon is a small almond or coconut bisсuit. A macaron is a french meringue cookie which looks like a sandwich with a creamy filling.
#2 Bananas vs plantains
Plantains are green, rich in starch and low in sugar. You should cook them before eating. Bananas are sweet and yellow and are called dessert bananas.
#3 Biscuits vs cookies
Both cookies and biscuits are made of flour and eggs. A biscuit can be crunchy, sweet or salty and a cookie is soft and sweet. Cookies can also contain fillings.
#4 Pills vs tablets
A pill has a broader meaning and refers to pills, capsules and tablets. In turn, a tablet is a pill which is round in shape.
#5 Sauce vs ketchup
Both sauces are made out of tomatoes. However, there are practically no additives in tomato sauce. Ketchup usually contains spices and sugar.
#6 Boats vs ships
A boat is a watercraft smaller than a ship. A ship is larger in its size, capacity and can carry a boat. Boats are meant for inland waterways, while ships for deep waters.
#7 Jam vs jelly
Do you know what's the difference between jam and jelly? Jelly is made of fruit juice and pectin, while jam is made of fruits.
