In the film "Glengarry Glen Ross", Ricky Roma (Al Pacino) is the big man in the office. Though he might not have always been the office's top earner, he has made it to the top and he certainly feels like he is going to be staying in that position for a long time. "Glengarry Glen Ross" is a movie based on the play by David Mamet. It is a simple story of a group of desperate and largely unsuccessful real estate salesmen. They are trying everything they can to make a sale and get some money.

Richard "Ricky" Roma (Pacino) is a very cutthroat and successful real estate salesman. He derives his success from eloquent and convincing pitches, preying on insecure clients with illusions of power and machismo. Concerning events at the office of Glengarry Glen Ross, Roma is always in contention for the prize awarded to the top "closer".

Roma will find and make a sale, just like a large sale he closed with a man called Lingk. Overnight, the firm's office is burgled, and promising real estate leads are stolen. Lingk arrives at the office during the investigation; he is being forced by his wife to cancel his land purchase during the cooling-off period. Roma attempts to distract Lingk from doing so in the hope that the period will pass, trapping Lingk. Comments by the firm's manager, John Williamson, trying to play along, catch Roma in a lie, and Lingk immediately demands a refund. Furious, Roma berates Williamson in front of the entire office, and storms out, threatening to quit.
