The Lighthouse of Genoa, Italy, is the main lighthouse for the city's port. Besides being an important aid to night navigation in the vicinity, the tower serves as a symbol and a landmark for the City of Genoa. When measured as a whole with the natural rock on which it stands, as it is commonly perceived and represented, its height is 117 m (383 ft), which would make it the second tallest lighthouse in the world, the tallest in Europe, and the tallest traditional lighthouse.

The original lighthouse was built in 1128 (although some sources put the date at 1161) and the current tower was built in 1543. The previous tower had been damaged several times due to various fights and wars. The tower has also been struck by lightning on numerous occasions, and one of its caretakers died from a lightning strike in 1481.
