The Seattle Mariners are a Major League Baseball franchise that played its first season in 1977, and have since made the postseason only four times. In three of those four tries, they were eliminated in the American League Championship series, thus they are the only team to never appear in the World Series.

The Washington Nationals, who were the Montreal Expos until after the 2004 season, made their World Series debut in 2019, defeating the Houston Astros in 7 games. The Milwaukee Brewers and the Tampa Bay Rays are one of few teams that have never won the World Series in the MLB, as well as the Texas Rangers, San Diego Padres, and Colorado Rockies.
