Joël Robuchon (April 1945 – August 2018), a French chef and restaurateur, had received 32 Michelin Stars by the time of his death. This was and is the most Michelin Stars any chef in the world, managing several restaurants throughout a career, has ever obtained. Synonymous with breaking Michelin Stars records, Alain Ducasse (b. September 1956) currently holds 21 Michelin Stars. This makes him the current living chef with the most Michelin stars in the world. Gordon Ramsay (b. 1966) is a legendary character in the culinary world and is a high profiled English chef. He has a famously hot temper, and the ability to cook British cuisine's most delicious recipes. Ramsay's cluster of Michelin Stars is at 16.

Martín Berasategui (b. April 1960), a Spanish chef with great prestige and the most Michelin Stars in Spain, has 12 in all. Fans believe that his status as the third top chef in the world, was consolidated when, in May 1993, with his wife Oneka Arregui, he opened up the Martín Berasategui Restaurant in Lasarte-Oria, not far from the city of San Sebastián.
