At Heritage Auctions’ Sept. 8-12, 2021 Spider-Man’s debut in Amazing Fantasy No. 15 sold for $3.6 million to become the world’s most valuable comic book. Until this time Superman's' debut in Action comics No.1 held the lead at $3.25 million. The comic collector industry is a fickle business that changes almost daily.

Besides the grade (condition) of a book so much more interest today is generated by the movie industry. So many children that grew up reading these books and having their favorite heroes have gotten the nostalgic interest to have these long lost copies of their favorites again. Some of them are lucky enough to have the means to purchase these expensive books.

For some, these high ticket books are an investment. They are bought and sold the same as classic cars and land properties. For many though it is the hunt for that 'Holy Grail' that they need to fill that yearning.

Published: August 01, 1962, written by Stan (The Man) Lee and penciled by Steve Ditko and Jack Kirby, Amazing Fantasy No.15 introduced the world to 'Spider-Man', doing what he does best, 'catching crooks and saving the day'.
