At what temperature in degrees are Centigrade and Fahrenheit equal?
To convert Fahrenheit to Centigrade you have multiply the temperature in Celsius by 9/5 and then add 32. So, to find the point where both scales are equal we can use two simple equations:
- °C = (°C * 9/5) + 32
 - °C - (°C * 9/5) = 32
 - -4/5 * °C = 32
 - °C = -32 * 5/4
 - °C = -40
 - °F = (°F * 9/5) + 32
°F - (°F * 9/5) = 32
-4/5 * °F = 32
°F = -32 * 5/4
°F = -40
So, Centigrade and Fahrenheit are equal at -40 degrees.
