The Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons controversy (or Muhammad cartoons crisis) (Danish: Muhammedkrisen) began after the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten published 12 editorial cartoons on 30 September 2005, most of which depicted Muhammad, a principal figure of the religion of Islam.

The newspaper announced that this was an attempt to contribute to the debate about criticism of Islam and self-censorship. Muslim groups in Denmark complained, and the issue eventually led to protests around the world, including violent demonstrations and riots in some Muslim countries.

Religion itself hasn't killed anyone. It's the fanatics that cause such unrest. They incite others to do all the inhumane acts we see perpetrated. And it's all religions. But, religion should never be banned. Most of those that are true believers have a better respect for differences.

Stephanie Hermann, So you are saying that we shouldn't teach children anything until they are old enough to make up their own minds if they want to do one thing or the other. No influences on eating or cleanliness or even talking to them until they are old enough to make up their minds if they want to speak whichever language or whether they would eat grass like some animals or attack and eat meat like others. Can you see where I am going with this? If you shouldn't teach one thing should you teach anything until a child is old enough --AND when is a child old enough? Hmmm that opens another BIG can of worms. Just saying~~g

I think parents should teach kids there faith, when kids are older, make up there own mind.. My parents Didn't really force us to their views. Only once did my father mentioned why he didn't go to church. Farmer, apple orchard, it was better than church. I agree.
