Nice question. His method of determining measure of heat was terrible, though. He set out to never have negative values and failed at that. And his method for setting 100° was even more terrible science. He used he temperature of his assistant, who was running a fever. Not reproducible.

Steve, nice to see you recognize Gdansk, even though at the time of Fehrenheit's birth it was the Free City of Danzig. Gdansk, the home of Lech Walensa and the Solidarity movement in Poland. In my opinion, the most beautiful city in Poland.

Going by the spelling of his surname, I thought he was German or Austrian but when I saw neither of these options in the possible answers, I picked Poland and then I checked his genealogy and found that his family was of German extraction, hence the German surname.
