"The Magic Key" is a series of books published for children as part of the Oxford Owl books, from Oxford University Press. Biff, Chip, Kipper, and Floppy the dog have been helping children learn to read (and love to read) for more than 30 years. These much-loved characters were created in 1985 by author Roderick Hunt and illustrator Alex Brychta. Since then, hundreds of stories have been published, read by 30 million children around the world.

The series was first published with a set of 30 stories, and there are now over 300. It is used by more than 80% of schools in the United Kingdom, and has been translated into numerous languages in over 120 countries. In 2000, it was made into a television series, produced by Collingwood O'Hare Entertainment and Henson International Television (HIT) Entertainment in association with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
