Do Polar Bears eat penguins in the wild?

Perhaps you know that the polar bear is the largest predator on our planet. So, it may seem quite natural that it stalks and eats these clumsy non-flying birds! Actually, everything is not so simple as it appears at first sight. Penguins inhabit the coasts of the Southern hemisphere only, whereas polar bears live in the Arctic, that is in the Northern hemisphere. As you see, there is no way for them to ever meet.

Jack Kircher...It's IMPOSSIBLE for a Polar Bear to eat a Penguin! They live at opposite ends of the Earth! The Polar Bear lives in the Arctic, and the Penguin lives in the Antarctic! There is no way, on Earth, that the two will ever be in the same place, not now...not ever, unless it's in a Zoo, but never in the wild! So your comment is ridiculous!

Jim Hill you failed to understand the question which was DO THEY EAT THEM IN THE WILD. and there is only one true non tricky answer - NO, as they are never in each other's "wild" environment. PERIOD. It is OK tone wrong you know.

Jim Hill...That would be totally impossible. Polar Bears and Penguins live at opposite ends of the World. One lives in the Artic, and the other lives in the Antartic! There's no way, on Earth, that the 2, of them, would ever be in the same place (except, maybe, in a Zoo, somewhere)

Actually not all penguins are in the Antarctic region or in freezing conditions. The Galapagos Penguin is found just north of the equator and there are penguins on the South African coast and the coasts of Australasian countries. However, they are nowhere near Polar Bears who are only found in the northern arctic regions.
