"Phineas and Ferb" is an American animated musical-comedy TV series created by Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh for Disney Channel and Disney XD. Produced by Disney Television Animation, the series was originally broadcast as a one-episode preview on August 17, 2007, and again previewed on September 28, 2007.

The series officially premiered on February 1, 2008, on Disney Channel, marketed as "Phineas and Ferb-uary", due to new episodes being shown on many of the days during the month of February. According to the theme song, "There's 104 days of summer vacation...", it was considered that the series will consist of 104 11-min episodes or 52 22-min episodes.

Dr. Heinz "Doof" Doofenshmirtz is the main antagonist and a recurring character in the Disney Channel animated series, "Phineas and Ferb".

His role is that of the forgetful clumsy evil scientist that commonly fights against his nemesis (and at times friend) Perry the Platypus, the boy's pet, that acts as a secret agent for an all-animal government organization called the O.W.C.A. ("Organization Without a Cool Acronym") with his "- Inators" (i.e., Rain-inator, Babe-inator, Big Sad Eye-inator and etc).

Later in the spin-off "Milo Murphy's Law" Dr. Doof befriends Milo Murphy and Vinnie Dakota after a misunderstanding with Perry, and creates new, well-intentioned "- Inators". Doofenshmirtz is the reason why Phineas and Ferb don't get busted by Phineas' mother concerning their wild and outrageous capers.
