Elizabeth Taylor made her debut on the big screen in the film "There's One Born Every Minute" (1942). It was released when she was ten years old. Universal Pictures dropped her film contract after this one film was produced. Taylor was soon picked up by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc (MGM).

Throughout her career, Taylor's personal life was the subject of constant media attention. She was married 8 times to 7 men, endured several serious illnesses, and led a jet set lifestyle, including assembling one of the most expensive private collections of jewelry in the world. After many years of ill health, Taylor died from congestive heart failure in March 2011, at the age of 79 in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA.
