"Around the World in 80 Days" was a 1956 American epic adventure-comedy film produced by the Michael Todd Company and released by United Artists. It was based on the 1872 work by Jules Verne, "Le tour du monde en quatre-vingts jours".

Most people remember David Niven in the lead role as Phileas Fogg (that balloon trip!), but there is so much material in the film that perhaps many of the other famous names on the cast list slip from one's memory. Apart from the four names mentioned in the question there was a large number of other distinguished stage and screen actors drawn from several countries.

The many stars who appear were carefully matched to the specific countries that appear in the film. Frank Sinatra, Marlene Dietrich, Buster Keaton and Red Skelton all appear in the American sequence of Fogg's great journey around the globe.
