From which port has this ship just departed? (April 11, 1912)
This is the last known photograph of RMS Titanic. She sailed from Southampton in April 1912, bound for New York. There were then two intermediate scheduled stops, Cherbourg in Northern France and Cobh/Queenstown in County Cork, Southern Ireland. The Titanic left England on the 10th of April. The question asks what city it departed on the 11th.

Every time a vessel leaves a port, it's called a departure...if you bother to read the answer, you will discover that indeed, it did leave/depart from south hampton....the question doesn't ask where it departed from first. It asks where the picture was taken, and provides the date. It's a fairly iconic picture and most people would have a fairly good idea of its name.

The question asked where it departed on April 11, which was in Ireland. They left England in April 10 and made two stops, one in Northern France and the other stop in Southern Ireland. They departed Ireland on April 11.

Christina, you are half right. She was built in Belfast, Ireland but set sail for America on April 10 from Southampton, England, sailing first to Cherbourg, France and then to Queenston (Cobh) Ireland from which she departed on April 11.

The question states clearly..."From which port has this ship just departed" it did not ask for the original departure location, William is absolutely correct. All these, this is not fair comments is laughable. It's just a quiz folks and look you have learned something!

In this case I have to say that the question is well written and the answer without doubt is Cobh, people failed to read carefully. They are not asking which was the home port, but which was the last port it departed on April 11, 1912, before sinking. It was constructed in Belfast, its maiden voyage started in Southampton April 10, stopping in Cherbourg, and finally departing Cobh before sinking.
