'Juke Box Jury' was a music panel television show run by the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) between 1959 and 1967. It was based on the American show of the similar name 'Jukebox Jury'. For the majority of shows, the theme tune was the instrumental song 'Hit and Miss' performed by The John Barry Seven Plus Four. It replaced the original theme tune 'Juke Box Fury' composed by Tony Osborne, which only played for the first six weeks of the programme.

The series aired every Saturday night and featured celebrity guests, who were asked to judge recently released music records. Each episode was hosted by David Jacobs, who played some music on his jukebox for his four celebrity 'Jurors'. Each celebrity declared whether they thought the song would become a 'hit' or if it would be a flop or 'miss'.

The celebrities were usually stars from music, television and film. The first show in 1959 featured radio presenter Pete Murray, pop singer Alma Cogan, singer and actor Gary Miller, and actress Susan Stranks. Other stars that appeared on the show include the actor Eric Sykes, singers Lulu and Cilla Black, TV personality Jimmy Saville, film producer Alfred Hitchcock, comedian Spike Milligan, and musician Roy Orbison.

Despite its popularity in its early years, ratings began to drop and the last show aired on 27th December 1967. 'Juke Box Jury' has been revived twice, first in 1979 with Noel Edmonds, and then in 1989 with Jools Holland.
