Ho Chi Minh City was formerly named Saigon. By what other name was it once known?

Ho Chi Minh City formerly named and still also referred to as Saigon is the largest city in Vietnam. It was once known as Prey Nokor, an important Khmer seaport prior to annexation by the Vietnamese in the 17th century. Phan Rang is a different city in South Vietnam. Krung Thep is another name for Bangkok (not in Vietnam!) and Quốc Ngữ isn't a city at all -- it is the name for the Vietnamese alphabet.
