How many active volcanoes are there in Italy?

Three of Italy's volcanoes have erupted in the last hundred years:

Mount Etna, on Sicily (continuous activity)
Stromboli, one of the Aeolian Islands (continuous activity)
Mount Vesuvius, near Naples (last erupted in 1944); the only active volcano in mainland Europe.

What are your thoughts on this subject?

Does "active" mean that the volcano has erupted at least once in the last 100 years? If so, then the question and answer are correct. All the other volcanoes people have listed last erupted in the 19th century - Vulcano circa 1892. Perhaps the question should have included the "definition" of active.

What about the underwater volcanos? It just said volcanos not on land or above sea level.

I really think there is more. As said what is considered active? I'm no expert but I having visited Italy many times believe there are more that could still erupt?

How about the shield volcano in the Phlegraran Fields (Campi Flegrei) at Pozzulu, west of Naples? The caldera is about 13 km in diameter, and is believed to be building up magma again. It is one of the world's most active volcanic areas.
