How many countries have left the EEC / EU?
Each member of the EU has a right to withdraw from the Union in accordance with its own constitutional requirements.
Algeria left when it became an independent country in 1962 (formerly part of France before then); Greenland voted to leave (formerly part of Denmark) in 1985.

The EU and EEC did not exist when Algeria broke from France. Neither existed when Greenland voted to leave Denmark.

Neither Algeria or Greenland were countries when they left the EEC.Algeria was a territory of France and Greenland is still an autonomous territory belonging to Denmark.If the criteria is territories leaving,then the number should be 3 as the Caribbean island of St Bethelemy left in 2012.

Suriname was part of the Dutch Kingdom. Gained independence in 1975. The EEC was established in 1957, so was this country part of it and all the other countries gaining independence after 1957 from the European colonisators.

Your reference doesn't support the answer. First it says no member state shave left. Then, it says three territories of the member states have left.

The question is very poorly phrased - this is what the link actually says so 0 is the correct answer. No member state has ever withdrawn from the EU (or the EEC). In March 2017, the United Kingdom triggered Article 50 to begin its withdrawal from the EU; actual withdrawal is scheduled to occur in March 2019, with a subsequent transition period to December 2020 which has now been negotiated.
Three territories of EU member states have withdrawn: French Algeria (in 1962, upon independence),[1] Greenland (in 1985, following a referendum)[2] and Saint Barthélemy (in 2012),[3] the latter two becoming Overseas Countries and Territories of the European Union.

They were territories when they withdrew not countries so the correct answer is ZERO.
