How many points does a snowflake have?

Snowflake crystals are made from frozen water. If you look closely at a snowflake, you can see many different and beautiful forms. But they will all have something in common. All snowflakes are the same type of crystal and are hexagonal, which means they have six sides or branches.

Well, I've spent a lot of time looking at snowflakes being from NY and I'm not sure this can be statistically proven. Sounds a little sketch to me. I need mybusters and Bill Nye and Neil Degrasse Tyson and Carl Sagan and Stephen Hawking and Gregori Perelman to confirm this answer.

I learned this in grade 2 when my class learned how fold and cut sheets of paper to make snowflakes as Christmas decorations. It was hard to cut through several layers of paper with those kid-size school scissors.
