How many US presidents were lawyers?

25 of the 44 presidents of the US have been lawyers. Only one other besides Barack Obama has been a graduate of Harvard Law - Rutherford B. Hayes was the only other Harvard graduate.

Interestingly, lawyer-nominees have been more common on the Democratic side than the Republican party.

The commonest occupation by most US presidents is not surprisingly, in the field of law.

The answer is incorrect, 25 of 44 were law school graduates, not all were lawyers. Example Andrew Jackson was a lawyer of practice inTenn. But not a graduate of a law school. Barack Hussein obama was a graduate of a law school but never practiced as an attorney. Never licensed Or challenged bar. Point of fact in evidence not an opine.
