"The Goonies" is a 1985 adventure comedy film. It was co-produced and directed by Richard Donner. Chris Columbus wrote the screenplay based on a story by executive producer Steven Spielberg. The stars are Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, Jeff Cohen, Corey Feldman, Kerri Green, Martha Plimpton, and Jonathan Ke Huy Quan.

In a scene with less than insightful actions, the Walsh brothers, Mikey and Brandon, and their gang of friends return to the Walsh house. First, they have a discussion about a copy of the statue of Michelangelo's David. It's the brothers' mom's (Irene) most favorite piece! They don't want to accidentally break it. Next, when Brandon is sitting in an armchair talking to Mikey, Chunk, Mouth and others, he looks at them and says to one, "I'm gonna hit you so hard that when you wake up your clothes will be out of style!".

The kids are living in the "Goondocks" neighborhood of Astoria, Oregon. They are now attempting to save their homes from foreclosure. They will discover an old treasure map that takes them on an adventure to unearth the long-lost fortune of One-Eyed Willy, a legendary 17th-century pirate. During the adventure, they are chased by a family of criminals who want the treasure for themselves.

"The Goonies" is a story of good versus evil. It has both bad guys (the Fratelli brothers and their villainous mother) and reluctant-hero good guys. The kids' quest is one where they go through underground passages, aboard pirate ships, and behind waterfalls.
