If an American woman usually takes a shoe size 8 and plans to do some shopping in Italy, what shoe size should she look for there?
International shoe size comparisons are very complicated. Some countries make a distinction between men's and women's sizes. Some do not. An American woman's size 8 is the same as European size 38½, Mexico size 5, Japan woman's size 24 and UK woman's size 5½.

here in the USA have both sizes included.

I've bought shoes in France, which uses the same sizing system, so this was easy for me. Size 9 here, 42 in Europe.

Many super models have large feet, Euro or American size. Most women who are near 6 feet need those size 40’s to saunter down the catwalk.
