Harrison Ford (born July 13, 1942) is an American actor who has accumulated a number of accolades and film awards for his career that started in 1966. Outside acting, Ford is a licensed pilot of both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters. He has often assisted the emergency services in rescue missions near his home in Wyoming. In one instance he rescued a hiker overcome by dehydration.

His ranch is in Jackson, Wyoming, on which he has lived since the 1980s with approximately half of it carved out and donated as a nature reserve. He is also a dedicated environmental activist, having served as the inaugural Vice Chair of Conservation International since 1991.

As of 2020, the U.S. domestic box-office grosses of his films total over $5.4 billion and worldwide, grosses surpass $9.3 billion, placing him at No. 7 on the list of highest-grossing domestic box office stars of all time.

In addition to his box-office success, Ford is also an Academy Award nominee, a four-time Golden Globe nominee, a three-time Saturn Award winner (Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films), and the recipient of the American Film Industry Life Achievement Award and the Cecil B. Demille Award for “outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment.”
