Yeah, a Sausage sizzle is a fund raiser for charities held where people are shopping and at certain events. So yeah serving on a slice of bread with sauce and fried onion is the easiest way.

As per the link "Sausage sizzles have become a recognised and expected addition to polling booths at Australian elections, with sausages at these stations nicknamed 'Democracy Sausages." Bit of a set-up for candidates on tv news, as they show that they have obviously never eaten a snag in real life.
