February, 24: The Voice of America (VOA) aired for the first time
On this historic day in radio broadcasting, Voice of America (VOA) signed on for the first time. Voice of America, an international broadcasting institution, is owned by the Federal government of the United States.VOA programs are produced and broadcast in English and fifty-two other languages, including: Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), French, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, and many more. As of today, it has over 1,000 contracts and agreements with various television channels, radio stations, and even cable companies worldwide.

The only radio to respect many languages which were neglected and banned by some barbaric rrgimes around the the globe. The Oromo, the third widely spoken indigenous language of Africa was among the suppressed languages, until the VOA brought it to a world stage . Thank you VOA. The Oromo Nation is grateful for what you did!!!

The main focus of a radio or television network, is to reach the masses by communication, through language. That's how the (2) survive, by sharing the product with other countries.

Quizzclub people: Where do you get your answers? Where do you get your questions for that matter? Even if VOA supported 50 or more languages do you really think they would broadcast or publish every program in all of its supported languages?
