'McCashin's Brewery' is based in Nelson, New Zealand, and home to one of the pioneers of craft brewing.

'McCashin's Brewery' started life as the 'Rochdale Cider' factory in the late 1930s, however the current building was erected in the 1950s. It was purchased in 1981 by former All Black and farmer Terry McCashin and his wife Beverley.

They continued to make 'Rochdale Cider' and began brewing craft beer, competing with the brewing duopoly of 'Lion Nathan' and 'Dominion Breweries'.

Terry McCashin is credited with being ‘first in craft’ and starting the "craft beer revolution" in New Zealand, and changing the course of the beer industry in New Zealand.

Stoke Beer was launched in 2010, and Rochdale Cider was re-branded and re-launched in 2009.

Stoke Beer is produced using traditional batch methods, natural ingredients (water, locally grown hops, malt and yeast) There are no additives, preservatives or added sugar. Stoke Beer is brewed and packaged on site.
