"Say Anything..." is a 1989 American teen romantic comedy-drama film written by Cameron Crowe (in his directorial debut). The film follows the romance between under achiever Lloyd Dobler (John Cusack 6/28/1966 Evanston, Illinois) and the schools valedictorian Diane Court (Ione Skye 9/4/1970 Hampstead London, England) immediately after their high school graduation.

In 2002, "Entertainment Weekly" ranked "Say Anything..." as the greatest modern movie romance, and it was ranked number 11 on "Entertainment Weekly's" list of the 50 best highs school movies.

John Paul Cusack is an American actor, producer, screenwriter, and political activist. He began acting in films during the 1980s and has since starred in more than 85 films including, "Sixteen Candles" (1984), "Gross Pointe Blank" (1997) and "Map to the Stars" (2014). He is the son of filmmaker Dick Cusack (8/29/1925-6/2/2003) His two older sisters, Ann and Joan Cusack are actresses also.

In the film " Say Anything... ", Cusack's character wants to be a kickboxer. The character is seen throughout the movie practicing the sport in order to open his own kickboxing school.

Cusack trained in kickboxing (a group of stand-up combat sports, based on kicking and punching) in the preparation for the movie "Say Anything.... ". He began training under kickboxing legend, Benny Urquidez (6/20/1952) and has continued the sport for more than twenty years, obtaining a rank of a level six black belt.
