Jan Ingemar Stenmark (born 1956) is a former Alpine World Cup skier from Sweden, who competed internationally during the 1970s and 1980s. He is considered one of the greatest slalom and giant slalom specialists of all time. After making his debut at the World Cup in 1973, Stenmark won 46 giant slaloms and 40 slaloms. He also won the World Championships three times.

Stenmark first participated in the Winter Olympic Games in 1976, where he took bronze for the giant slalom. At the 1980 games held in Lake Placid, New York, Stenmark won two gold medals for Sweden, one in the giant slalom and the other in the slalom. He was banned from the 1984 Olympics for accepting promotional payments but was allowed to enter the 1988 Winter Olympics in Canada. Unfortunately, he was past his prime and did not win any medals. He retired from professional skiing the following year.

During the 1970s, Sweden considered Stenmark a national icon, along with the likes of tennis champion Björn Borg. Stenmark is one of many athletes who moved to Monaco for tax reasons but still remains a Swedish icon. In 2004, he survived a devasting earthquake and tsunami while holidaying in Thailand. In 2015, he won 'Let's Dance 2015', a Swedish celebrity Latin and ballroom dance competition.
