'Multi-Coloured Swap Shop' was a British children's television series that aired on BBC1 from 1976 to 1982. It was hosted by Noel Edmonds with Keith Chegwin, John Craven and Maggie Philbin. The programme included a mixture of music, visits from public figures, competitions and cartoons.

John Craven (born 1940) presented the 'News Swap' segment of the show, which covered news and issues relevant to British children. During the week, he also presented 'John Craven's Newsround', a news programme aimed at 6 to 10 year olds.

The most popular element of the show was "Swaporama" hosted by Keith Chegwin, who travelled to different locations in the UK where children could swap their belongings with others. Over the course of the programme, over 2,000 children took part.

John Craven continued to present his news segment on 'Multi-Coloured Swap Shop' until the show ended in 1982. Meanwhile, he hosted 'Newsround' until leaving in 1989 to become the presenter of 'Countryfile'.

Craven was awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire) in the 2000 New Year Honours for his services to rural and children's broadcasting. In November 2011, he attended the British Academy Children's Awards to collect a Special Award for 'Newsround'. As of 2021, Craven remains a regular presenter on 'Countryfile'.
