November 22 is the earliest day on which Thanksgiving Day can fall in the USA.
Everybody knows that in the US this holiday is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November. But few people know that November 22 is really the earliest day on which the holiday can fall.
Thanksgiving has been celebrated as a federal holiday since the 19th century. It was also celebrated nationally in the 18th century (after a proclamation by George Washington).
This holiday is actually the part of the broader holiday season.
