He is of above-average height, with an athletic build and muscular arms. He has a tattoo burned under his forearm, with twelve straight lines like a bar code, an eagle, and the letters SPQR over the lines. The tattoo symbolizes his twelve years of service in the Twelfth Legion Fulminata at Camp Jupiter; the eagle is a symbol of Jupiter. By the age of fifteen, he had earned the rank of praetor and led the legion with his longtime quest partner, Reyna. Jason also coordinated the Roman camp's attack on the Titan force. He led an assault against Mount Othrys, a Titan stronghold near San Francisco, and defeated the Titan Krios in combat, much as Percy Jackson defeated Kronos.

Isn't Jupiter and Zeus the same God. The only difference is that Jupiter is from the Roman mythology while Zeus is from the Greek mythology.

How can the answer be Jupiter? Heroes of Olympus suggests Greek Mythology and Jupiter is the Roman equivalent of Zeus. Me thinks the author needs a lesson in ancient mythology.

Actually if you read the books, these are parallel characters and stories The Hero's of Olympus stories use the Roman names, the Percy Jackson books the Greek names. In the story lines, these two cultures actually cross in the books, causing some confusion even among the heroes themselves. As noted, Jason Grace is the son of Jupiter in this series. Percy Jackson is the son of Poseidon in his series of books, though he has interactions with Zeus such as in "The Lightning Thief". The Gods personalities shift somewhat between the two sets of books too, depending on how the Greeks or Romans viewed them. They are very good reading, the Percy Jackson books in particular. And it's all cleverly updated, in the books Olympus actually moves to wherever the head of western civilization is supposed to be, which, since the books are set in current times, is above New York City.
