St. Petersburg has more bridges than any other city in Europe.

St. Petersburg is known for its beauty and for its amazing bridges. It is also a runner-up in the number of canals and islands. If you include the suburbs, the city has 64 rivers, 48 canals, 170 kilometres of coastline, about 100 islands, and 800 bridges. However, that is not the biggest amount of bridges. Venice is made up of 118 little islands intersected by 150 canals and linked by 400 bridges. Amsterdam has more than 1,200 bridges. Hamburg has more bridges (2400 bridges) inside its city limits than any other city in the world and more canals than Amsterdam and Venice combined.
