The Spanish Steps (Italian: Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti) are a set of steps in Rome, Italy. The 135 steps begin in the Piazza de Spagna and end at the Piazza Trinita dei Monti and the church, Trinita dei Monti, at the top. They were envisioned in 1717 by Francesco de Sanctis, who received the commission to complete them after winning a competition for their design. They have been restored many times, most recently in 2016.

The fountain in the foreground predates the steps, designed in 1627-29 and attributed to Pietro Bernini, the father of a more famous son, Gian Lorenzo Bernini; it was infamously the target of a group of Dutch soccer fans who, in 2015 vandalized the fountain after a match between their home team and the Roman team. It has since been restored.

The steps have often provided a backdrop in literature, notably in F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel, "Tender Is the Night" (1933). On film, Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck familiarized them to American audiences of the 1950s in "Roman Holiday", and in 1999 they were featured in "The Talented Mr. Ripley" with Matt Damon. In 2000, Ray, Debra, Frank, and Marie climbed them in an episode of "Everybody Loves Raymond", on a family trip to Rome.

There is a stairway in Washington, DC, also known as the Spanish Steps, built in 1906.
