Hub Gurnari, That is exactly how I remember it from my tour of Historic Boston. They pointed it out as we drove by, stating, there isn't a bar in the basement. I really liked going on the Beaver Brown though.

I’ve seen people respond that they‘ve been to the bar Cheers. I went in 1990 and it was a fast food restaurant downstairs where the bar appears in the show. There was a Cheers souvenir shop on the ground floor reached by the stairs you saw in the program inside the bar that went to the restaurant in the show you never saw ( I think). The top floor is a living quarters where the building owner resided I’m told. Had a beautiful spiral staircase leading to the apartment but you couldn’t access it freely. OR BAR THERE though
