"Miranda" is a British television sitcom written by and starring comedian Miranda Hart. It originally aired on BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) Two from 9 November 2009 and later on BBC One. Developed from Hart's semi-autobiographical BBC Radio 2 comedy "Miranda Hart's Joke Shop" (2008), the situation comedy revolves around socially inept Miranda, who frequently finds herself in awkward situations. The show features actors Sarah Hadland, Tom Ellis, Patricia Hodge, Sally Phillips, James Holmes and Bo Poraj. It was taped in front of live audiences at the BBC Television Centre and The London Studios.

In the radio comedy show "Miranda Hart's Joke Shop" Miranda is an unconventional woman: a tall, life-embracing, self-effacing clown. She's used her inheritance to buy a joke shop (much to her family's dismay), but lacking the organisational skills needed for retail (or anything else) Miranda goes into partnership with Stevie.

Stevie mans the till for hours at a time whilst Miranda 'pops out' on regular, self-imposed challenges. Miranda is determined to suss out what it takes to be a girly girl, to deal with her outrageously embarrassing mother Penny in public places, to not look a complete idiot every time she meets the gorgeous Gary and to persuade other people to take life less seriously.
