Chubby Checker was born in 1941 with the name Ernest Evans. He is a rock 'n roll artist best known for the hit song 'The Twist'. Checker was born in South Carolina but moved to Philadelphia at a young age. He worked a few odd jobs, including shining shoes and selling ice, during which time he began performing on the streets. In 2008, 'The Twist' was named the biggest chart hit of all time by 'Billboard' magazine.

Chubby Checker is married and has three children, Bianca Johanna Evans, Mistie Bass, and Shan Egan. Mistie is an American professional women's basketball player and Shan is the lead singer of Funk Church, a band in Philadelphia.
