The English county of Norfolk (from the English words "North Folk") lies, logically, to the north of the county of Suffolk ("South Folk"). But where in the world does Norfolk lie south of Suffolk?

The Norfolk in New York State is north of Suffolk, and the city of Norfolk VA is north of Suffolk VA. There is no Suffolk in Ontario, but Norfolk Ontario is north of Southwold, Ontario (Southwold named after a town in Suffolk, England). But check the counties of Massachusetts on a map!!

I thought that the question was quite clear. The only problem was that it required having detailed knowledge of three states snd one provence. Having never visited any of the four, I was reduced to guessing. I chose the longest name.

looking at maps it appears Norfolk and Suffolk counties in VA are side by side but a portion of Suffolk is north of Norfolk. Very confusing question.

Barry Beachum, That's what I thought too. I was stationed in Norfolk while my second ship USS AYLWIN FF1081 underwent some repairs. Don't recall it being a full overhaul like my first ship US DEYO DD989. That ship spent a year and a half in Portland Maine, mostly in dry dock for a serious refit and the addition of two deck mounted Tomahawk missile launchers. Those were later removed, along with the ASROC launcher and a vertical launch system was put in place that could vertically launch both Tomahawk missiles AND anti submarine rockets, or ASROCS. Nice thing about that? The original deck mounted launchers could only fire 16 missiles or rockets. That VLS could launch 66.
